About Me

Family Focused

I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Health. I am a Certified Exercise Physiologist, and Exercise is Medicine Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine. After working in a clinical setting teaching fitness classes and personal training, I found my passion in the prenatal community. I became certified in Prenatal and Postnatal Exercise.  During my certification process I found the opportunity to become a certified Birth Doula. I felt this was a perfect way for me to strengthen, educate, and empower women before, during, and after labor. I am happy that I can now offer "full service"  to women and their families during this exciting time of their lives.

I am married and a mother of two. I currently live in Ames, Iowa. I have a passion for helping educate and empower women, through exercise, education, providing support, and building long lasting relationships with mothers and their families. My hope is that I can teach women how to better support themselves both mentally and physically throughout their pregnancy, and help them make informed decisions about their birth and care of baby.

"I loved working out with Amanda, she is so knowledgeable about the body and how it works. I loved that she explained why I was doing the exercises and what it was doing for my body!"

"Amanda really listens to my concerns, and pays attention to my needs. I felt like I mattered when I worked with her."

Sarah

" I have done a lot of group classes and personal training in the past, and I never learned how to safely do workouts until I worked with Amanda. She has a great way of explaining the movements and protecting my body"
